THE 2016 AVVA PROJECT FRIENDSHIP RECIPIENT:

This year we had chosen the Tucson based Esparanza En Escalante program for homeless Veterans. This organization helps transition Veterans back into their communities. AVVA National is proud to announce that our members raised $11,016.00 for this organization! This is our biggest ever Project Friendship donation. Thanks goes out to all of the AVVA and VVA members who donated or who obtained donations. Click here, to see the letter sent to us by the Esparanza En Escalante program.

NATIONAL CONVENTION 2015 - Project Friendship Results!

July 21 - 26, 2015.
Sprinfield, Illinois.

Our 2015 Project Friendship recipient this year was the Spring Street Veterans Renaissance in Springfield, IL. Prior to and during the Convention, AVVA collected an astounding $10,000.00 to donate to this project! This is a new record for our organization. Thank you to all who donated. This is a very worthy organization!

AVVA DONATES FUNDS TO FISHER HOUSE:

On April 9, 2014, Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America visited and toured the Fisher House Facility at the Washington DC VA Medical Center. While there, AVVA National presented the Fisher House Facility with a check for $3000, donated to help further their activities. The Fisher House gives the caretakers or family members a place to stay to be close to their Veteran while he or she is receiving serious medical care from the VA Medical Center next door. This aids the Veteran so that they can have someone close by when needed, without the added stress that being away from home would otherwise create.

Bill Williams, AVVA Treas; Stephanie Burns, VA Volunteer Services Director;
